My role with Quinas Old Collegians Football Club is Assistant Senior Coach. I have been involved with Amateur football for 15 years.
The coaching staff this year has a really young, new playing list and set out looking for a fitness day camp to build relationships between the players and test their limits. After researching various organizations, Fire Up Fitness a newly formed company owned/operated by currently employed fireman/police officers, impressed us the most. The team were very professional and proved great value for money.
What impressed us most about Fire Up Fitness was their ability to tailor the course to our teams individual needs. We were not after a typical army boot camp where our players got abused and punished. We set out with 3 goals:
- Push players to their physical limit, proving anything is possible
- Develop teamwork and discipline within the group
- Set goals for the year and motivate them to succeed
The course was specifically designed taking in the above criteria by Fire Up Fitness. The fitness side of the camp was very well run. It was suitably structured with little down time to test our team’s endurance, yet varied enough to retain the interest of the group. Their communication skills were fantastic and they focused heavily on stretching/recovery to ensure players of all fitness levels were able to complete the season. The venue, Sandringham Yacht Club, was an ideal choice for a Summer camp. Ovals/stairs/hills/sand and even swimming at the beach to conclude the session, was a great change of scenery away from our normal training facilities. The motivational speaker, who concluded the day, spoke well and was able to relate his Hawaiian Ironman experiences closely to the challenges faced by footballers.
Finally, in my Corporate Sales roles at Cathay Pacific Airway, we are always looking for new and exciting activities for our clients to experience. Fire Up Fitness programs are that something different companies can tailor make to their organizations needs.
If you are involved with a Sporting Team or simply wanting to challenge a group of Corporates, I can highly recommend Fire Up Fitness.
Kind Regards
