Fire Up is a unique & original outdoor fitness program created by Fire Fighter and fitness fanatic, Jason Dale. Fire Up offers what a lot of already established boot camps don't have. The FULL PACKAGE. A complete physical exercise program right through to nutritional plans and even a healthy breakfast to boot!
Why take my workout outdoors?
We live in Melbourne. We are lucky enough to have beautiful parks, gardens and beaches at our door step. Why not include them in your exercise regime. It's the best way to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Extensive research continues to show the many benefits of outdoor fitness, which include dramatic increases in fitness level, the ability to burn more calories, a measurable reduction in stress, and increased feelings of well-being. Working out outdoors will leave you feeling alert, refreshed and uplifted.
Why is Outdoor Fitness more effective than the gym?
Forget those stuffy, sweaty gyms, the great outdoors is the ideal environment to achieve your fitness goals. The outdoors offers an ever-changing environment. You must adjust swiftly to different terrain, inclines, declines, obstacles and climates. This improves your body~mind connection and sharpens your balance, agility, strength and coordination. You also get an immediate sense of accomplishment!
What does a typical session include?
Each session is different. Fun and unique simulated firefighter exercises test and challenge your fitness levels with real life MFB scenarios. You can also expect a thorough warm-up, stretching, cardiovascular activities including fun team games, muscular strength and toning, balance exercises, abdominal and core stability, and more!
How quickly will I see results?
If you follow the full program, you will love the results. The key is consistency. Consistency breeds success! Adhere to your workout schedule and our nutritional tips, you will get results quickly.

Who can join?
You can! 'Fire Up' Fitness Camps are fantastic for everyone. You don't need to be fit to start. You will get fitter as you go. Age is not an issue too. Past clients have included 20 year olds right through to 50+ years. Minimum age is 18 years.
How can I prepare for the course?
The physical nature of the course is challenging and increases in intensity as your fitness increases. When you first start with us, you are grouped with people of the same fitness ability and then move up platoons as your fitness increases. If your aim is to get maximum results then doing pre-course exercises will prove highly beneficial. Try to improve your strength by doing bodyweight exercises such as push-ups (from toes or knees), sit-ups, and tricep dips. Remember don't sacrifice TECHNIQUE for quantity here! Go for a regular walk/jog/run (3 times per week for 20-45mins is sufficient) to further improve your cardio (aerobic) fitness. Contact Us if you require further information here.
Are your trainers certified?
Yes. Each member of our outstanding team is VICFIT qualified. The 3 main instructors are currently leading firefighters in the MFB and have extensive 1st aid training. In addition, all of our team is certified and fully experienced in CPR, right up to Level 3 advanced 1st aid. Collectively, our team has extensive training in all areas of physical fitness.
What if it's raining?
Your training will be fun and effective in all weather conditions. It's even better if it rains! A motto we like to keep is: 'There's no such thing as inappropriate weather - only inappropriate clothing!'
Note: Fireup! has many indoor venues or shelters at it's disposal so if it's torrential, we'll head in!
Do I need to bring any equipment?
Along with a positive attitude, all you need are appropriate shoes and clothing for the conditions, a water bottlle. Water & Gatorade are provided at every session and every Friday is free fruit friday. Our instructors sometime surprise our clients with yummy fruit salad or even warm porridge! All training equipment will be provided. A heart rate monitor is recommended but not essential.
