"I really love the group training environment and have met some really great people along the way. I have had personal trainers, many of them, and they were all great but didn’t push me enough. Gym memberships are a waste of money for me as I rarely go and when I do I tend to socialize or convince myself that 'near enough is good enough'. Often at the end of a FireUp course I’ll say that I may have a break for a while but then a week down the track I realize how much I miss the sessions and the 'high' you feel afterwards" Annette MALONEY (Fire Up stalwart)
"The guys at Fireup Fitness have created a fun and friendly environment in which I have achieved fitness and strength levels far beyond my expectations. The trainers are very professional and have the ability to get the best out of you. It is by far the best lifestyle change I have undertaken in years and in only 6 weeks has achieved far better results than 6 months of gym membership. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone whether they are starting from scratch or wanting a boost to their current level of fitness." Vance Manins
"I had tried out for the MFB and bombed out at the shuttle run component of the selection process, so I decided to give getting into the MFB one more shot, I knew that I needed to lift my fitness and Fire Up sounded like just the tonic, especially as it was run by current MFB firefighters.
It was however one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I am proud to say that I missed only 1 session and I made it to all but 1 of the optional running group sessions. That alone is proof of how much fun Fire Up can be. I set a goal at the start of the course, to run 9.6 on the beep test (MFB requirement), and to get through the MFB fitness testing with ease in June. I am pleased to say that I achieved all of these goals and every one of the trainers, Simon, Jason, Dan, Jaz, Pete and Flanners played a huge part in that. They each have a knack of drawing out the best in you and enabling you to give that extra 10, 20 or 30 % even when you think you have nothing left in the tank.
The sessions are brilliant, they have obviously put a lot of time into preparing them as each one is different and the locations vary each week also keeping the interest up. The games at the end of each morning are a huge laugh and create a great feeling amongst the group, I mean come on how long has it been since you played a game of dodge ball or bridges and boulders. Hilarious! They generate an awesome atmosphere of comraderie, support and encouragement, no one yells at you and you will be well on your way to reaching your fitness goals whatever they are and no matter how fit or unfit you are when you start. I have no doubt that the encouragement I received from all the dudes at Fire Up helped me achieve my ultimate goal of getting into the MFB. I had so much fun over those 6 weeks and met some fabulous people and if you decide to join up I'm sure you will have just as good a time as I did." Kat Dunell
